Bellator 110 weigh-in results: 'Rampage' heavy for tourney fight with M'Pumbu
    http://mmajunkie.com/2014/02/bellato...gh-in-results/

All but one of the dozen fighters in two Bellator weight classes are official for their tournament bouts at Bellator 110.

Bellator 110, which kicks off the organization’s 10th season, features the semifinals of a four-man light heavyweight tournament at the top of the bill, plus four opening-round fights in the featherweight tournament. On Thursday, 11 of the 12 tournament fighters made weight for their fights.

Only Quinton Jackson missed the mark on his first attempt on the scale. “Rampage” came in at 206.5 pounds for his fight against Christian M’Pumbu, who was well under at 199.75. Jackson was given two hours to reach the light heavyweight non-title max of 206 pounds. He was one of four fighters on the bill to miss weight.

It should be noted, though, that because of the many cameras inside the casino property at Mohegan Sun, where Thursday’s weigh-ins took place, fighters who missed weight did not disrobe in full behind a towel and instead will make their second tries behind the scenes. That may be enough for Jackson to hit the mark since he was just a half-pound north of the limit.

Bellator 110 takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card, including a Jackson-M’Pumbu headliner in the 205-pound tourney semifinals, airs on Spike TV following prelims on Spike.com. The co-feature in that tournament is between Muhammad Lawal and Mikhail Zayats, each of whom made weight without issue at 205 pounds on the other side of the four-man bracket.

Things got heated between “Rampage” and M’Pumbu after Jackson’s interview with Jimmy Smith. When told M’Pumbu said he planned on retiring him, Jackson responded, “He’s’ going to retire me? He said that?” He then went in M’Pumbu’s direction and got nose to nose with him, shouting at him.

The eight fighters in the Season 10 featherweight tournament’s opening round all made weight without problem.

But three fighters on the preliminary card missed their marks. Saul Almedia was 146.25 for his featherweight fight against Andrew Fisher (145). Andrew Calandrelli was 156.75 for his lightweight bout against Ryan Quinn (155.5). And in a bad miss that likely will see him docked a percentage of his purse, given how much he would need to lose in a short time, David Roberts was 212 pounds for his light heavyweight fight against Patrick Schultz (201.25).

The official Bellator 110 weigh-in results include:

You know Bellator will not let Rampage be eliminated due to missing weight.

Seriously you guys, Rampage is too professional, especially given how much they're paying him. Quinton needs to take it a little easier on Quinton, he's just all work and no play.

HAHA rampage claims that its because he was wearing his batman underwear that caused him to be overweight and that they (Bellator) like to do the "take your pants off weigh in" in privacy aka. so even if he is over - they can say he made weight anyways.

It was only by a 0.5 lbs from the allowance of 206 lbs. It was easily a miscalculation and he should be more than fine.

I know Rampage isn't professional with his weight when he's not fighting, but he has always made weight besides the Bader fight where he actually had an injury. This isn't an Anthony Johnson, John Lineker, or Thiago Alves type of situation in my view.

.5 pounds? if it was 4 or more I'd say he didn't give a shit. But that's barely missing it. Much ado about nothing. Rampage does not have a rep for missing weight too much does he?

"I don't call the fighting in my films 'violent', I call it 'action'. An action film borders between fantasy and reality. If I were to be completely realistic in my films, you would call me a violent, bloody man. I would simply destroy my opponent by tearing his guts out. I wouldn't do it so artistically." ~Bruce Lee
