Fitch is poised to challenge the winner of Steve Carl vs. Rousimar Palhares -- who will headline WSOF 9 this weekend (Sat., March 29, 2014) at "The Joint" from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada -- at WSOF 11, which is tentatively scheduled to take place on July, 5, 2014, at a soon-to-be-announced location.

WSOF Executive Vice President (and Matchmaker), Ali Abdel-Aziz, shared the news with MMA Fighting earlier this afternoon.

That is, of course, if Palhares' drug test comes back clean and plans go accordingly. And, should "Toquinho" topple Carl and take his belt, that Fitch has changed his mind about fighting the enigmatic Brazilian limb crusher.

Better practice your leg lock defense if you're going to take on Palhares. It's gotta be a tough choice on whether to fight him or not. On one hand, you don't want to run the risk of serious injury and having to deal with him holding onto anything for too long, and you also don't want to look scared in not fighting him even if you know that you can beat him but feel like the risk isn't worth it.
You have to know what you don't know.

This match plays into Fitch's strengths and Palhares weakness... Fitch has really solid submission defense and Palhares gets flustered when guys escape his submission attempts and then he makes mental errors and loses
