He is easily not top five joe. I love mma and I love bellator but who has he beaten? He has one thirteen straight but against who? He has already lost to jacare and wouldn't be the bellator champ if the UFC would not have stole hector. Weidman Souza machida Anderson and vitor beat him. He is on a good run and is a good fighter but looked extremely beatable in the first against ward.

The lost to Souza was almost 10 years ago. I don't think he's the same fighter he was back then. Look at Anderson Silva, he wasn't always destroying guys, he had a few losses before fighting Rich Franklin. Sometimes it takes a few of those for guys to hit their stride. I wouldn't bet against him if he rematched either Souza or Lombard. He's a much more polished striker and he's very smart in that cage. One little mistake and he can capitalize. If he went into the UFC and went on a tear, Dana would just pretend he was with the UFC all along. As for the others on that list, I would have to see the fight. I don't think any of those guys would blow through him, but it's all speculation. they will probably never fight this guy if he stays in Bellator.

I knew Shlemenko had a lot of fights under his belt since he has been in the game for a decade, however, I did not realize that it was that many until yesterday night. 50th win? That's crazy!

Shlemenko is ok. His last few fights have been kinda close too imo.

    Definitely not top 5 imo

He definitely isn't making the top 5. The top 5 is stacked: Weidman, Anderson, Belfort, Machida, Jacare. I think he could potentially squeeze in to the top 10 though as the MW division's top 7-8 is quite good and then it falls off.

Here's the thing the guys he'd beat and the guys he'd lost to all have winning records. I mean saying UFC fighters fight better competition because they fight other UFC fighters is kind of a circular argument. Of course they have wins over top UFC fighters, who else would they have wins against? There is no open competition so right now Shlmenko is the best in his Universe. Wiedman is the best in his. Who's better? IMO it takes a cage and an actual fight to find out, but all we can do is play fantasy mma until that's possible. Joe Rogan summed it up perfectly. There are great fights we will never see. The Brands right now are more important to the promoters than the sport. It's about making money, that's the bottom line. Competition is whatever the promoters can make the fans believe it is.

I like Shlemenko, but I think he's the beneficiary of the Bellator MW roster, similarly to when Lombard was champ, in that they never offered up anybody to really "CHALLENGE" him per se. The win streak is impressive, but his two biggest fights(Lombard and Jacare) he's lost and all of his valuable wins are against mid-level Bellator tourney fighters.

Personally, I have Khalidov more highly ranked and a far superior overall talent outside of the UFC MW division. Regarding outside talent, I think Khalidov could challenge the top seven MWs in the UFC today, whereas I think Shlemenko doesn't have the right pieces.... he gets hit too much and just looks to small to compete against the kind of MWs out there.

IMO, if they want Schlemenko to be taken seriously, I think they need to make a play for some real competition and that's Mamed. Winner of that fight will have proven something and made themselves an argument for a top five spot. Too bad neither really fights top shelf competition to prove their worth....but I think Khalidov's record is more impressive.

Shlemenko is a Top 10, but unless he beats some Top 5 fighter, I can not put him there.

There is a big difference between the guys he beats in bellator and the Top 5 MWs in the UFC.
Not only brazilians can do this stuff
