Try again. Shields was in the UFC before Jones even became champion, and Condit was well on his way to becoming a contender-having recently knocked out Hardy, before Jones became champ.

And obviously, when we're talking about Jones "cleaning out the division", that goes well beyond the date that he first won the title.

I hope this isn't too big, because it's awesome.

Jones has done a great job of cleaning out the division, for whatever that's worth.

But LHW has never been close to as deep as WW. If you want to argue, you can argue that it was better or worse than LW at the time Jones won, but if you really think it was close to as deep as WW, I can't help you.

Cain will kill him, goose will kill him, tex... come on.
I'm not so sure anybody's beating this man, even IF he does go HW.

Knee kicks, arm cranks, elbow smashes... this is a bad man that may very well destroy the HW div when he gets there.

I said before I dont like the guy but face it, he fights like a motherfucker.

    It's all speculation.

I'm with Tongan. Jones is a bad mother fucker. I don't think its a given that anyone beats him.

I would put down serious money that Jones would lose to anyone in the HW top 10.

Exactly. I think even a big guy like Lavar Johnson would probably be too much for him

Bad example. Lavar has no takedown defence, but I get what you're saying.

I don't have a problem with his "flip flop". When he said it, he had just destroyed a group of LHWs that were seen as the best LHWs ever with ease. He probably thought he could step up to HW with no problem. But after fighting a guy that was more similar in size, he probably started to realize how important his size advantage was in his success.

I know that but i was talking more in the way Lavar usually backs his opponents up against the cage and unloads a flurry, since Jones just extends his arm out and tends to run straight back when his opponent move forward.

Yeah I know what you mean. Teixeira had Jones on the fence and one point and I was yelling at my TV telling him to unload but he just didn't capitalize on what seemed to be his best chance in that fight. I do however think that there are many heavyweights that would be able to put Jon on the fence and keep him there.
