Default jim miller vs. donald cerrone for UFC event in atlantc city, july 16

A barnburner is on tap for the main event of the UFC's event in Atlantic City, as two of the sport's most exciting fighters will collide on July 16.

Fresh off a pair of fantastic finishes, New Jersey native Jim Miller and "Cowboy" Donald Cerrone will square off in a five-round lightweight fight at the Revel Casino-Hotel. The Press of Atlantic City broke news of the fight Thursday.

Cerrone (23-6, 1 no-contest) has a stated goal of fighting six times in 2014. He's 2-0 with a pair of memorable finishes thus far. At UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago on Jan. 25, he dropped Adriano Martins with a first-round head kick. Then, at UFC on FOX 11, Cerrone choked out Edson Barboza in the first round of their fight.

Between the UFC and WEC, the Jackson's MMA fighter has 14 career postfight bonuses, including each of his past three fights.

Miller (24-4, 1 NC), meanwhile, is one of the sport's most enduring and respected fighters. The Whippany, N.J. native has won three in a row (minus a no-contest), with his past two victories being first-round submission wins. For his part, Miller has six career UFC postfight bonuses.

Cerrone, for his part, is excited about the fight. "Thank you Jim! Let's dance," Cerrone tweeted, after news of the fight broke.

WOW, really not sure who to pick in this but one thing I know for sure is, it's definitely gonna be a FOTN or POTN.

Love it and hate it! I am big fan of both of these guys and desperately don't want either to lose. I'd like to see a ground battle with them more than anything else. I'll have a hard time watching this fight but I'll be glued to the tv!

HOSS-Bork, you should spend more time brushing up on your MMA history, and less time complementing guys on how young their penises taste.

No fucking shit eh? I've been pulling down bank lately and depending on when they open up these cards, especially prelims on each card, yeeeeeeeah there's some big money to be made.

what a great birthday present to me!

too bad ill be on a 3-day backpacking trip so ill just have to catch it when I get back.. either way this should be a great fight... I think Cowboy has it standing and its close on the ground

fireworks on the feet or a great grappling match on the ground im all for it.. kind of a weird main event though unless its for #1 contender spot lets see how the rest of the card shakes out
