There are definitely gay male fighters in the UFC, although they're not displaying it openly. IMO, who cares, more power to them if they have talent and can succeed, props to Liddell here. Should be a non-issue but haters gonna hate.

As long as you can fight its cool. I kinda thought Ring was openly homosexual, but maybe I was mistaken. No hate on the guy either way.

Homosexuality is a NONISSUE in sports.

If you can fight in a fair manner, are enjoyable to watch, or someone I can learn something from.... then that's all I care about.

The same thing happened last week with Michael Sam in the NFL draft.... so what?? If he can play the game, then that's all that matters.

The thing with MMA unlike other sports, if you make fun of a guy for his sexual orientation, he could really hurt you.
I always thought Nick Ring was gay.

I do not care if a fighter is gay or not. However I agree that there is no need at all to make it public.
If a guy comes out and says "I am heterosexual and I am very proud of it" many people will consider him as a homophobe. However if a gay says "I am homosexual and I am proud of it" everybody will be like "Wow!! That's awesome! He is so brave, he is my favorite fighter now!!".

People want to put homosexuality as something normal and natural, in that case why a fighter should tell in public that he is gay?
No one is encouraging heterosexuals to brag about their sexual preferences. Why they are encouraging gays to do so? Only because they are a minority?

They want people to respect them and leave them alone with their non traditional sexual orientation, Ok, so then why they want gay fighters to come out of the closet and tell the whole world that they like cocks? That is their private life.

there are 2 reasons youre afraid of gay dudes... either youre dumb [slash stupidly religious] or you're secretly worried that dicks are delicious.. that's it!
Who is afraid of them? No one will be afraid of some person only because he is gay. Afraid is definitely not the correct word.

I know a lot of gay people, and I have no problems with them at all.
However I will not deny that it makes me sick to think about a man sucking a dick or inserting his dick in another man's anus.
You can say that I am dumb or that I am unsure about my heterosexuality, I don't care.

I am not saying that gay people should be chased and punched (Like in Russia) only because they are homosexuals (Very different story for pedophiles).
Most of them are absolutely normal people and actually many of them are very talented and are really great at their professions.
It is just that I think that there is no need at all for them to come out and publicly say that they are gays. Just like for a heterosexual person there is no need at all to come out and say that he is hetero.
Not only brazilians can do this stuff

I've never understood why who somebody is banging is news. That's the way I view it.

"Ok, the 7th round draft pick/bench warmer is putting his penis in some Swimmer guy. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"Ok, the girl that Tom Brady is banging, said something about the team Tom Brady is playing against. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"Some old rich guy is racist. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"LeBron James said something about Mount Rushmore. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"Tim Tebow celebrated a touchdown, now to debate it for 7 hours. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"Some bum on the Clippers/Lakers is banging some girl who is famous for some reason (Kardashian). Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"Tony Romo is banging various other celebrities. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"Whoever Jason Collins is, is banging somebody. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

"Tiger Woods is banging everybody. Why is this on a sports highlight show?"

-Me watching ESPN over the course of the last 5 years

None of it should be a big deal. There should be 2 rules for sports journalism.

    1) Stick to sports.

    2) If a player/owner/commentator/whatever does something newsworthy, in their private life, that isn't sports related, and it is by far the most newsworthy thing they have ever did/will do, then it isn't newsworthy.

It isn't newsworthy, because they don't matter. Lamar Odom isn't a superstar. Tim Tebow was a college legend, and had a nice little pro run, but he was unproven at that level, and didn't warrant the coverage he got. Nobody ever heard of Donald Sterling before a few weeks ago. Michael Sam barely got drafted, and hasn't played in a single pro game. Yeah, I get that this stuff gets ratings, and that's what the network cares about, but that's the problem with journalism. It's fucking broken. Give it 10 years, and all news networks will just have a continuous shot of boobs, because people will watch boobs. Idiocracy is real, people.

OK....I'm not sure if you just really don't get it or don't really follow football or maybe you just skimmed over what I wrote.

You don't normally have a camera crew at a guys house all weekend who is a 7th rd UFA prospect. You don't see him being discussed in depth on path to the draft or total access. If Sam wouldn't have made his announcement at the time that he did he wouldn't have got any real attention from the NFL media. Read any article about STL picking Sam and you will understand what I am saying. I'll post a link later when I'm not using my phone.
