Default Crazy Kimbo Slice to Bellator Rumour.....

This is not news in the sense I can't confirm anything, but Twitter is buzzing over a rumor that Bellator has signed Kimbo Slice. I guess we'll find out, but the idea of Slice appearing on the 9/5 UFC vs. Bellator head-to-head TV night does make sense if you think about it.

Follow the link for the entire update but Dave'll be doing his radio show tonight to probably talk a little more in-depth. Thought it was an interesting note, even if just a rumour, for the card they're running against the UFC....

Doesn't seem that far fetched to me.

Kimbo Slice? Hey, I've heard of him! Bellator better sign him!

Sarcasm aside, am I crazy or does it seem like Bellashit is just signing guys that have name recognition at this point?

That's about where they're at, since clearly they aren't flourishing based solely on exciting fights.

It seems like Kimbo is the Bob Sapp of MMA in the US. Nobody cares how good he is or what his record is but they love to watch him fight. To be completely honest, the spectacle novelty of a Kimbo fight will always draw my attention, as much as I disdain what he brings to MMA.

Jesus. Nothing would do more to confirm the perception that Bellator are in deep shit than putting fucking Kimbo on the card, surely?

Yeah, true, the UFC did it first but they were rightly slated for it - and that was before the abortion that was Kimbo/Alexander.

Bellator have no excuses. This just makes them look desperate.

I wonder if Cole Konrad regrets leaving Bellator at all.

Konrad is currently a commodities broker and did so to make more income than he was making as a Bellator HW champ as he had just gotten married.

Cole Konrad explains why he left 'dead-end' career in MMA behind

Oh I don't blame him for leaving in any way. He likely didn't think too highly of being a champion that finally defended his title eighteen months after winning it.

I just figured they could have used what money they spent on the likes of Kongo, Tito, Rampage and potentially Kimbo to make a play at getting him back. Especially since he was the first heavyweight champion they crowned and retired undefeated.

Thanks for the article link. It certainly confirmed what I thought in that he made the best decision in leaving when he did.
