Brandon Vera and the UFC have parted ways after a run that spanned more than eight years.

Vera's release was never publicly announced, but sources with knowledge of his contract situation confirmed to FOX Sports that the 36-year-old is no longer under a UFC deal.

The split ends one of the most mercurial careers in recent UFC history.
And if you want beef, then bring the ruckus

Mercurial, mixed martial arts is not messing around with the vocab. Word of the day.

Remember when he was going to be the LHW and HW champ?

It's really a shame, he had a great start in the UFC and his management really fucked him over. After that he just never regained his killer instinct.

Rampage/Vera would be a pretty cool fight.

I'm naturally assuming that he'll be going to Bellator.

I kinda wish he had stayed at heavyweight, the run at 205 was not very productive. He might have deserved to beat Couture at 205 and then Thiago Silva wasted his time. Then of course Big Ben came up dirty in the heavyweight return. Vera had a bunch of bad luck in the UFC. I guess we can forget about the Phillipines.

Not to mention that God awful stoppage from Dan Mirg when he fought Werdum.

Nah, my money is on WSOF. With Johnson gone they need a recognizable name to be their face of the LHW division.
