Conor McGregor (15-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) and Dustin Poirier (16-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) will get their wish.

UFC officials today announced that the matchup McGregor and Poirier each accepted verbally in various media appearances has now become reality, and the two featherweights will now square off at UFC 178.

Im loving the quick turn around with some pretty talented fighters lately. Between Connor and Cowboy stepping up the fight output, Im missing Lytle a little less lately..

Wow, that is great news. I love how quickly Conor is jumping back into the cage and against by far his toughest opponent to date. This is a downright scrap right here and it's going to be ugly. I also like how Poirer is all fired up about it and was quick to call him out. You see what Conor did there?

I always liked Poirer a lot as a fighter and he's one of my favored FW's, but this McGregor train is just hilarious. I am with him the whole way.

He has his hands full with the Diamond.

It looks like most of us have gotten what we wanted with this fight, Poirier should provide a great test for Conor and his future potential. I've had a soft spot for Dustin since watching 'Fightville' some time ago and hope he can derail the McGregor hype train.
