I remember when he tried that shooting star press at WM and almost killed himself. I'd love to see him try it again though.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure winning the UFC HW title, being their biggest draw, and headlining their biggest PPV ever qualifies as successful in MMA, albeit only on a short-term basis. Sure you can say the HW division was weak at the time, but he still made it to the top of the mountain. Long term, no because of the disease, not liking to get punched and his skill-set. Short-term, absol-fuckin-lutely.

Howdy Folks! You like blood? Violence? Freaks of nature? Well then, come on down to Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Mad-Men. See the Alligator Boy, ride my famous Murder Ride. Most of all, don't forget to take home some of my tasty fried chicken! Ha ha! It just tastes so damn good!

Exactimondo. Also let's be fair...only guy ever to finish Carwin, who in my opinion is basically a less athletic, less charismatic, roided to the gills version of Brock albeit with better boxing. And he beat the legend that is Randy Couture everywhere in there fight. I personally can't help but like the dude. He's exciting. DEMON.

I listen to every Fighter and the Kid podcast and I have never heard Dana say this, and I can't find a podcast featuring DFW since November of 2013.

I heard this was a hoax right after the news broke.

I'd treat this as a rumor, an unconfirmed rumor, as nobody reliable or close to the UFC has anything regarding a Super Heavyweight Division even being talked about or mentioned notably.
