I personally enjoyed Rivet's presence around the forum. I had no issues with him as a mod so to me he was just another good poster (and one of the best). If he's not going to be around much or at all, then I wish him the best.

I hope this isn't too big, because it's awesome.

Be well man. Say hello when you can.

I'm glad to have had the chance to know you while I did.

Seriously, i ask again - Who actually cares who stays and who leaves? I for one wont lose sleep if a handful of you leave, i also wont sleep better at night if the handful of you leaving decide to stay. It is what it is.

This is an internet board people, pull yourselves together. Shit you would think Riv and Ramma passed away with how some of you are commenting and reacting to the news.

I explained to Hillbilly in a PM that my leaving is not a result of any one thing but instead is a number of little things. In truth my "leaving" is unlikely to even be noticed since I've hardly posted at all over the last several months. I just haven't felt engaged by the discussions or wanted to get involved.

It seems that the quality of discussions have been gradually breaking down here. For example, right before the rumble vs lil nog fight Hilbilly brought up a great point about how good rumble was looking at LHW. This could have been a good discussion point but it was entirely drowned out by 3 pages of flaming.

Now I'm not saying that I'm not just as guilty, I've had my share of off topic arguments. I'm also not saying the flame wars can't be funny from time to time, Sakara and the Shirtless Phil Baroni Saga come to mind. It just seems like there is less discussions and more name calling lately.

I also want to make it very clear that my looking elsewhere is in no way a comment on the new mods. Hilbilly is a very insightful poster and I've always enjoyed his posts whether we agree or not. Disposable Assassin is another great poster who's an integral part of this community and I couldn't think of a better choice for a mod. Plus anyone who rocks a Cyclops was Right avatar is ok in my books.

My choosing now has more to do with who is not included in the Mod line up than who is. Riv leaving does take away a lot from this place. His posts were almost always well reasoned and articulated. He also did was good at calling people on their bullshit. The people who have a problem with Riv most likely do so because they were out of line and he put them in their place.

I do believe the new mods will get this place cleaned up and running smoothly in no time. I also expect I will pop my head in from time to time. I just think I want to get a new perspective for a while.

I really do wish you all the best and have the utmost confidence in the new lineup. Sorry if either of the new mods took my post as "shot in the face" (phrasing!) it was not intended that way.
thank you sir. I wish you well.. I actually was kinda upset nobody would debate the Rumble post I made in that thread EXCEPT for you and I even mentioned that in my reply to what you said to me that I was glad someone finally commented on my assessment. I appreciate the kind words..
"I leave this as a declaration of intent, so no one will get confused. 1: Si vis pacum para bellum. Latin. If you want peace, prepare for war. 2: Frank Castle is dead. He died with his family. 3: In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacies, it is necessary to act outside the law. To pursue natural justice. This isn't vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive, it's an emotional response. No, not vengeance. Punishment "

Again, my opinion is that pull the trigger Leaving on the Change of mod line up is hilarious. One person does not make a site or board etc. I have absolutely no problems with Riv, we have had quite a few discussions on threads & it was enjoyed thoroughly.

My problem is everyone acting as if the prom king graduating and moving away means the school isn't cool anymore?

    Sheesh

I will address you but I absolutely will not go further than saying the following:

This is a community. Built by people with similar interests. Many of us have come here to share our information and opinions as well as learn from others who may have insight we do not. Relationships are formed. Friendships if you may.

When the group left for the spot, we pulled it together and remained committed to one another as well as the site. We tried to make it better. Some of us have taken substantial time out of our lives to make it better for YOU. Sakara and cat spoon feed you news so you don't have to look. The mods attempt to minimize the absurdity and spam. We are a family here.

I can't make you see things as I do. I don't even want you to as I actually appreciate the differences in people.

If you don't recognize the impact of losing two guys (plus others) who have not only the mma knowledge and historic reference points as well as the life experiences of guys like rivet and Ramma then I honestly can't help you.

If they stick around and still engage in discussions, then no biggie. If they are out as they said, it makes the site a little less knowledgeable.

If you are able, I think it would help YOU personally if you would take a look at the relationship between how you conduct yourself and how it effects others' contributions. I am not taking a swing at you but I think you would see a correlation. I have done the same self-reflection recently as well.

    I knew it sounded familiar.

Why do you care so much about what other people have to say? Why don't you just say what you have to say on the matter and let people say what they want. That would seem to be the logical and good thing to do, instead of trying to be a thorn. We all know you had beef with RH and won't miss him as much, cool. But plenty of us will.

Rivethead has been here a long ass time, as have I. I'm definitely going to miss seeing him around. I do, however, feel that fresh new mods will be a good thing for the forum.

"Pull it together" Lmao. Yeah we really need to pull it together over here, saying a few nice words to somebody who has done alot for the forum and likely won't be around much, if at all........yeah, makes perfect sense.
