This is a surprise. Sure, now that he is not promoting fights, it's possible Koscheck will be able to turn things around and come off as likable. For example, I couldn't stand Sonnen as a fighter, but he never really bothered me as an analyst (though I thought he lacked credibility, but that's a whole different issue).

Still, even if Kos is able to endear himself to the public by being more mature and less abrasive, I still think he lacks the intelligence and eloquence to pull this off. Honestly, he's probably one of the LAST people I would ever pick in this type of gig. The people who chose him know way more about it than I do though, so maybe they saw something in him. We'll see!

Let's not assume they passed on Lytle. He could very well still be working a full time gig.

Definitely not the worst choice. Regardless of what I think of him, I'll give him a chance before I write him off as an analyst. I'd prefer to see inactive or retired fighters fill these roles. Maybe I'm just conditioned from other sports broadcasts but I It always seemed weird seeing active fighters as analysts. I like seeing fighters fulfilling post fight career opportunities.

I liked Pat Militech's color commentary in Strikeforce, I think he'd make a great addition to the Fox team.

Another thing I think former fighters need to try and do is step more into a reffing role, if we have refs/judges from actual fighters instead of people that arent fully sure of the sport we could see much better results.
