This was an old thread and really shouldn't have been bumped for something that pointless. But I understand why someone would do it.

As far as being serious, this place is only as serious as you let it be. The influx of young people with agressive ideas is a byproduct of MMA becoming so popular. Just let things run off your shoulder. Seriously. Have fun! If you're having a problem with one or two people, put them on ignore. Just pick the stuff out you want to read.

I think more than anything, it's that the community feel is gone. Now every time I come on here there's a million users and I don't know half of them and the ones I used to know don't post as often as they used to.

I miss the old days when it was just myself, Matt Boone, ninjashogunrua, alvin, and anthony trying to get these forums started. I miss watching it slowly build and gaining new and intelligent posters, like mastiffowner, banda, legend, boo, afro, etc.(sorry if you're a vet and I didn't mention your name, it doesn't mean that I don't love you) I miss having countless debates about which fighters were better pride fighters or ufc fighters. I miss staying up late and highjacking threads with boo and legend, where we would basically just bullshit with each other and talk about stuff that was completely off topic. I miss going into threads and getting ready to post something only to realize that chuckthechamp just posted exactly what I was going to say. I swear it's scary sometimes with the way chuckthechamp and I think. It's almost like we have the same mind, but that's not to say we don't have our fair share of differences and disagrements. I miss keeping my postcount up with afro's. I miss a lot of things about the way it used to be and it's sad, because just like they say "you can never go home again". These forums can never be what they were, but they're still not that bad. Sure they can be a little much at times, but they're still better than sherdog anyday.

I know exactly how you feel. Friday night hijacks were a lot of fun. It just wouldn't work these days.

I wasn't here when the site started (started visiting about 7 months after), but I've gone back and read some of the first threads; quite a few are funny as hell. There were only like 5-6 regular posters. lol

And that guy GracieAlumni with threads like "Is Leben a fudgepacker"... holy crap. lol Did he rejoin the site with another user name?

Funny thing is, if threads like that were made today we'd be lamenting the old days and there would be comparisons to Sherdog aplenty. Not saying things are perfect now but nostalgia tends to make people ignore the bad and highlight the good.

Valheruking, it's just that we knew each other a lot better back then. That just makes things different. For example, there is humor that you can use with people who know you well that wouldn't fly around people who don't, either because they don't get it or mistake it's meaning. It's not a shot at the forum the way it is now.

plain and simple, this forum has seriously declined, i dunno wut it is, but most of the time im here, i dun even enjoy being here at all times, thers a buncha douches on these boards now, that just go on for 10 pages on some steroid enduced rage if u diagree with there opinion...

Yes I said "contracts get broken everyday" and Randy doesn't have to full fill it.
I wonder how many people be bashing Tim Sylvia if he did the same thing, say right after the last fight he had with AA, how many people would be saying "No way Sylvia must full fill his contract", people here be happy as pigs in shit if Sylvia was leaving because of contract disrupt.

The problem with sherdog is that there are too many members its like trying to have a civil discussion in a stadium filled with 50,000 people, I can't be done. It's not because there aren't smart people over there, its just the only way you get attention over there is to say something stupid.

This forum is still small enough and we have allot of smart hardcore MMA fans.
