i don't know exactly what's goin on here (and frankly don't really care to) but, i've been here for awhile and have seen plenty of posts by both smoog and twank.

they're both knowledgeable fans. i don't think there is anyone here except for maybe vaulherking (sp?) who has more international knowledge of mma.

i don't see where twanky would ever be able to say that smoogy is talking b.s. dude knows his shit.. you can't argue that..

seems to me, and from my experience here, anyone who questions the ufc, dana or seems to side with randy is in a small minority. i think too many posters here are too quick to swallow whatever the hype machine tells them to....

I agree. The propaganda gets nuts coming out of the UFC because they have an 80%+ market share and can dictate who is great and who sucks just by the stroke of a pen.

However, that has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

i disagree don.. the discussion at hand is why has the climate changed here at mmanews causing long time posters to leave..... i believe we have too many posters/users here who will swallow whatever is sold to them without question. this has really changed the climate plus the site has grown so much.. but i don't mind that. i think its good.

this maybe a reason why people like legend are leaving (hell, he even told me that).... truthfully, i think my time here is also running short... the constant couture and fedor bashing and the endless dana nut hugging is starting to get a lil' tiresome...

but i'm probably going to stay.. this site isn't blocked at work and helps the day go faster... guys like warchief, smoogy, palma, crush, ramma, chuckbooty, etc.. still keep things tolerable imo.

deeznizzies: you may be on to something there. I think people tire of the propaganda machine and when we see the casual fan start to move in to the sport we may come off smug and elitist because we have been exposed to more than what we are fed.

i also get tired of seeing the same exact threads just with different thread titles flooding the general forum. Apparently, some people are just too cool for school to use the SEARCH function. I can understand posting a new thread that had already been posted by someone else anywhere from over a week to a month, but when someone posts information and then someone else posts that SAME EXACT article/information in less than 5 days, jesus....

fuck it, it doesnt matter. Lets just flood the shit out of the general forum with pointless threads that have already been posted.

What I don't like about the forum nowadays is that people post with out reading what other people have already said. So in turn, you can read the same damn idea thats already been said if you do read everything. I would neg those people but most of the time I neg, I get neg'd back for neg'in cause they don't take it to well.

I think the rep system is fine the way it is, but I wish there was a way to maybe view only posts by people with over 100+ rep or something. Might give that good ol small community feel back to the growing city. Sometimes I feel like blocking a lot of the users posts permanently.

I like this site for a few reasons though:

The upcoming fight thread, a great place to see rumored and upcoming fights usually surpassing any other list on the net, when updated...

Pics/Vids section, cause I don't want to look all over the net to find a fight when every thing is here.

Random stuff, gets posted in what ever area that gets my interest that I wouldn't have normally seen.

Vbookie, is nice to bet and see how you fare with the odds.


As long as those are here, I don't think I would leave.
