The hole was the greatest thing since L Ron Hubbert. We have more members, people are still going crazy and flying off the deep end, I think there is a way to have the hole without making this forum a mockery.


I think with a few changes it could work. Like instead of just giving someone a couple days in the hole. They should plea guilty and have to make a public appology from the hole then be giving a certain amount of time, or be bant. Maybe even take away some or all rep points for early release. I think it should be a place where anything goes except that the worse a inmate acts in the hole, the longer he will stay. May even have a few lifers lol.

I don't care what you mods/admin do, just please bring back the hole!!!!

i liked the idea of the hole,it could be made to work with changes to how it used to be used.and i agree i think if it is brought back then you should lose rep anytime you are put in the hole.and maybe have like 3 strikes your out,meaning 3 visits to the hole you are banned gone.

but on the other hand when it was in use,the inmates used to just stir up trouble from the hole by flaming other members.on one hand i think its a good idea to bring it back and on the other hand not a good idea.

Someone brought up in another thread the idea of having a subforum where anything goes. In other words you could call people names and flame all you want. That could be incorporated into this idea.

I have seen that type of subforum elsewhere. You are not supposed to enter if you can't take the heat. I can't say I've ever seen what is actually said in them though, since I typically don't like that sort of thing.

I'm not sure if that sort of thing would work the way people think. Some say that it lets people blow off their aggression, but I suspect that the hard feelings it created would end up filtering into the rest of the forum and make it more negative.

^^^ i have also seen other boards with a sub forum where anything goes,but i think its a bad idea since we use rep at this site.after having a heated argument in the anything goes forum,it would spill over into other sections,people that had gotten in a argument in the sub forum would get in rep wars with each other,which would only further cause more problems.then they would start bitching to others about their rep,and we all seen how that works

There is nothing positive about it at all from a mod point of view or for the forum as a whole I think, one of the reasons it was scrapped before. Members get inmated and get a forum to hurl abuse or further continue the behaviour that got them there, the mod has few options as the member is already an inmate so they have to consider perm banning them, which is a whole new drama party. Basically I think people that get inmated should sit it out as it is now and have posting privileges returned on the set date.

I don't see the punishment in giving someone a forum to complain as much as they want about members/staff etc, and the whole thing becomes a half hearted joke of a place where people are sent for like an hour for teh lulz, and with all the members we have now and the numbers joining steadily I don't fancy the idea of keeping tabs on all of that, hard enough dealing with infractions etc sometimes.

The hole was the shit. See, when I say shit, shit can be applied to a description to the hole in both ways, so it's already a superior sub-forum. Clearly. Where else will you find great photoshopped pics of bullocks head on random pictures?

Nah seriously, I fucking loved the hole. If it spills out into other sections of the forums like you guys claim, just start handing out infractions and neg nukes. It's better than most of the flaming just being on the main section, when if you have the hole, it would be a portion being in it's proper place.
