The filter just tended to limit how much people even chose to use it, thus forcing them to focus on their point.
The other point I was attempting to being up was the issue that many of us are parents. I have been to many, many home-based PPV events where there are a handful of kids running playing in the next room. There was little evidence that people even care or respect other parents enough to watch what they say. Yeah, the other room should be fine, but we all no what happens when something unexpected or controversial happens and somebody yells 'F YOU' to the TV. It is just something to think about overall. It hurts no one to filter it (literally on this board, or in day to day life). |
No clue why the fuck this thread got bumped after being a year old.
First off, I like you and what you bring to this board, but you are seriously being way too sensitive. Are you on your period? I'll bring you some Cranberry Juice, just hold on and let me finish.
I am a parent. I try to censor myself as much as possible whenever my 2 year old son and step-daughter are around. Sometimes I do a great job of it and sometimes I dont. However, that has nothing to do with me adding a little fucking emphasis to my posts on this forum in which I thought we were all grown men who have the same common interest and love for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
If you havent taken a gander around the world today and noticed, the times have changed and just about everyone and their mother curses like a Sailor at some point. If you dont like people cursing or how wicked the ways of the world we live in are, why dont you just lock yourself indoors and only watch "I Love Lucy" re-runs?
Seriously man, I dont see why it bothers you so much and you cant just look passed it, unless you are one of those people that thinks we are all sinners and going to burn in Hell for all eternity if we dont say 5 Hail Mary's and wipe our ass everytime we drop an F-bomb on Swear City.
Like Mac said, kids are going to hear worse at school and TV/Internet isnt to blame for it. I promise even if you take it all away some of their friends are going to corrupt them with a nudie mag in the bathroom and teach them all that other rebellious stuff that was great when we were growing up.
Alot of us on here have kids, so be careful implying that some people arent good parents just because they use some foul language. You may end up offending one of us with that, more so, than us offending you with swearing.
Like I said before, I like what you contribute to this board and enjoy your posts, but I just felt like you are being a wee bit too sensitive for someone that surfs the web and is an adult.
I know this thread is old as dirt, but I replied anyways.
