If you want to guarantee you have a say, ie your suggestions are heard, you should visit that forum. Otherwise you are basically abstaining.

Also, why would the result change? There are plenty of people that would have voted yes that didn't see it also.

I don't, you were saying why have porn here when there's porn seconds away, my counter was why have mma forums here when there are plenty of others seconds away? The answer is that we like to discuss mma here - maybe some of us like to share porn here too?

I discuss mma here often. I'm currently translating Manga's interpretation of the PRIDE sale for y'all (which is taking hours and hours). However, I enjoy the off topic discussions equally - I don't see how that makes me less of a participant.

Anyways... I am done. Everyone can keep bumping this off-topic thread if you insist, but I doubt you will be doing anything but repeating yourselves.

I'm done for now as well but seems many are voiceing their opinion of keeping MMA and porn seperate or finding a better way to secure this area. Some reason mods arent doin jack about it, which i found interesting as 2 of the mods have voiced that they are against it. I'm telling yall that it is going to be bad in the long run. Just wait and see once the pervs come by the masses and then we'll have ppl clicking on shit giving us spyware and viruses... ohhhhhh it will be just great! lol.

The other thing is that a lot of posters here have kids that like MMA as well and sucks they cant let them get on the boards to discuss MMA anymore unattended because all it takes is a couple clicks and they have gangbangs, cum shots and whatever else all over their monitor. Once again I like porn but there is a time and place. Dont think an MMA news forum is 1 of them... it will only bring this place down.

Ok, I said I was done (and I am) but I am curious about what you say here...

You said yourself that porn is only ever a few seconds away on the internet, so if a kid wants to get porn surely it makes no difference if it is available here or not?

Also, this site curses a lot and glorifies violence - is that not in the same league as porn? Imo they are maybe worse things for kids to learn/be exposed to than porn?

Finally, the rule before was that porn could be linked to, but now it is quarantined in its own forum - surely that is preferable if you have kids here?

Anyways, yeah it seems everyone who is strongly opposed to this forum has now had their say (several times over in some cases lol), and I have had mine so Que Sera Sera.

You pretty much tell it like it is, no one else needs to repeat themselves countless of times because you can do it for us! Like git said, if the posters have kids that like MMA isn't it a wee bit ironic that violence is so accepted but sexuality is not?

I agree with you that for some odd reason violence is more acceptable than sex (or sexuality), but there is a definite difference between seeing a naked woman (or man) and seeing a woman get DPed and then guzzle 3 guys loads while being called a "dirty whore slut".

Sexuality and nudity does not equal porn.

It only grants immunity from torts (torts are civil actions as opposed to criminal, though sometimes torts can be criminal also).

Section E, parts 1 and 2 of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act

(e) Effect on other laws.

(1) No effect on criminal law. Nothing in this section shall be construed to impair the enforcement of section 223 or 231 of this Act [47 USCS 223 or 231], chapter 71 (relating to obscenity) or 110 (relating to sexual exploitation of children) of title 18, United States Code [18 USCS 1460 et seq. or 2251 et seq.], or any other Federal criminal statute.

(2) No effect on intellectual property law. Nothing in this section shall be construed to limit or expand any law pertaining to intellectual property.

True but section 71 was overturned by the supreme court and later replaced with COPA which was also overturned. Now the law in effect is CIPA which only really says that public computers have to use software to block porn.

Section 110 ia about child porn which isn't relevant since if anyone posts child porn, I'll report them to the ISP myself.

Either way people go vote in the new poll dammit.
