The book I wrote below is in response to some of the comments made in this thread and in the other thread about this topic.

We've talked about how accessible porn is to kids on the Internet. What about the parents that have installed filters on their computer to keep their kids from seeing it. What parent would expect their kids to have access to porn on a mixed martial arts forum?

Prophet had a very good point about sexuality and nudity not being the same as pornography. When kids are evolving their sexuality, exposing them to something like the type of pornography that is being posted is a bad idea.

I'm having difficulty explaining what I mean, but I'll give it a try. Any pornography I see at my age is not going to radically change my sexuality. If at 10 years old you exposed me to the same things, you could radically change what I think sex is all about. Face it guys, pornography is NOT realistic. As an example, take someone who is a true sadist or a masochist that can't have a satisfying sexual experience without pain being involved. I will bet you that in their formative years somehow sex and pain got intertwined and there is no undoing it.

As for mma being glorification of violence, that is a matter of opinion. I think there IS a difference between competition in a sport and violence. For one thing, there is not a victim.

@Git: your point about cursing is taken. That does seem to be a very attractive "perk" for some people about this forum. It doesn't offend me, but I can live without it too.

Also, I did see the first poll on this subject. Frankly I didn't think there was any chance it would be added. If I had, I would have given it a little more thought at the time.

Finally, I am in no way offended by pornography, but I have to agree that I do not think this is the place for it. What I think is the responsible thing to do is not influenced by whether I will be prosecuted by the law, or persecuted by my neighbors, or frightened by the wrath of God. Children should be protected, whether they are mine or someone elses. Just because other sites on the Internet don't care, does not make it OK here.
