No, it's not just you. It has become as much about the spectacle as about the fighting. It's kind of a shame, although I'm still watching so I can't really say much.

8 hour teleconferences with DOD (department of defense... I am assuming you are referring to that) is a horrible fate... EVERYONE talks in circles and by the right when you think you are done talking about one thing someone else brings it up later asking the same question that was asked 3 hours earlier!

Mac and Wang are obviously close, and Blake was making jokes about Wang getting kicked in the head... I would get offended too.

And anybody who says they wouldn't be stressed in a "reality" situation like that is lying to themselves. I'm not saying everybody would be bitching & having emo breakdowns, but it's impossible to be yourself. First off they haven't even smelled a woman, and I know i'm pissed at the world if I go a couple days without some ass lol. Secondly they're stuck in the house with 15 other guys who they may have to fight in the upcoming weeks, even the guys on your team are possible opponents in the quarterfinals & on, so how much do you really wanna show your own teammates in training? And last but not least, THEIR ARE NO WOMEN ANYWHERE!!! I'd go apeshit in a situation like that, and i'm a very levelheaded person.

Nice to know that the generals leading our country have a good attention span though. That's comforting.

this has to be the worst season yet. The coaches arent bad its just 3 wuarters of the fighters have no business on the show, annoying, or grumpy lol

Eh, Mac acknowledged he was moody and notes in the blog that he didn't feel he really had a right to talk like he did to Blake. I don't think he did anything too terrible.

I like Mac. He doesn't mince words and he doesn't buy into the whole Team Hughes vs. Team Serra crap that many guys on all seasons let themselves fall into. Sure he can be a moody guy, but he's also the most sincere guy on the show and has shown some genuine kindness towards the other guys on the show.

Mac has his own worldview and I dig it. And he really made some good points when comparing that fly to Hightower...

Keep in mind that the editors are making the show what they want it to be! Editing can be used to take thing out of context and create an image that is not based on reality. Each show has a 'dick' and it looks like it is Macs turn this season.

Just to throw this out there, I'd be willing to be that Mac Danzig has gotten more "face time" than any other 3 fighters combined. Its easy to look like a prick when so far the 4 main storylines are:

- How many ways can Matt Serra call Matt Hughes a "Dick"
- How big of a Bitch is/was Joe Scarola
- Matt Hughes is trying to be a loveable, cuddly, caring guy (watch season 2 and you'll know this just ain't true)
- 2 teams, Matt Serra's team (8 of the wierdest dudes UFC could find) and Team Hughes (Mac Danzig and the 7 dwarfs)

Of the 4 people on his team who have fought, 3 of them had VERY questionable heart (for example, this Paul guy telling Fiore that he really didnt want to get hit and was planning the fight around that - I knew he had no chance right there). those two comments sum it up. danzig is still my favorite to take the season. the lack of heart in the competition is appalling. when paul said he was from madison, i got all exited--even if he only trained bjj part-time-it's still cool to see someone from a town you have lived in competing in something like this. then he said he didn't want to get hit in the face and my jaw hit the floor... as it turns out i know a guy who trained with him and he apparently is pretty gifted in bjj, but has a but has a lazy work ethic...

and i'll tell you--i know some fairly militant vegans, and mac is really mellow on that front. i am an animal rights activist, but by no means vegan. my favorite protein sources are cheese and fish--and some vegans are downright scary. they will sit there and criticize what you eat and explain how milk is filled with pus and bacteria... mac just made a personal decision and lets everyone else do the same without condemning them.
i can also see why he comes off as a prick--my mother raised me with a kind of "mom is always right" mentality, and i inherited a pretty strong opinion of myself... so much so that i have developed a sort of mild disdain for points of view and attitudes that run counter to my own... actually i could probably benefit from a little therapy... *braces for L ron tirade*
