Was Serra wrong to not have cornered for his fighters?
 

I understand Serra was put into a difficult position, but it was inevitable he should have to choose one corner with 2 of his guys fighting each other. Instead, he chose not to corner at all. What other arrangements could have been made aside from having Hughes take one of them on? Was Serra wrong not to corner at all?

BTW - I think those two fighters were absolute idiots for not wanting to learn something from Hughes. There are fighters who train at as many different camps as they can to learn from as many different fighters as they can, and here these 2 jokers had the opportunity to learn from the most dominant WW of all time, and it was in the same fucking building! What idiots!

yeah i think it was wrong of him to do that.like hughes said you were brought on the show to coach nothing more.if i had been one of the fighters he didnt corner, i would feel as if he had turned his back on me as a coach

Yes, he was wrong. I haven't watched all the dialogue this season...I generally fast forward to the actual fights, but I watched most of this episode. I felt he wanted to seem impartial, when he actually being impartial. I think telling George to go for the kimura's all day long against Richie, without giving Richie any similar advice about George's weakness is a strong indicator that he wanted specific guys to win. Bottom line is, Serra wants his better fighters at the end, so he can "beat" Hughes. But I felt he should have taken responsibility for that, and encouraged Richie and Matt to train with Hughes as well. It would have been better for the fighters, but not for Serra's ego.

They both were idiots for not training with Hughes. I don't like Hughes, but they obviously could have learned a lot from him.

I think Mac is a pretty good fighter, but the I lost respect for him wiht the impression. He should either do that shit to Richie's face or shut the fuck up--talking behind people's back is very seventh-grade-mean-girls, and it made Mac look worse than Richie, in my opinion.

Dude, people talk behind other peoples backs all the time and I am willing to bet money you do it too, and if you don't, your either a complete saint or full of shit. Richie is a bitch and everyone knows it, he is just having fun making fun of a turd and I woulda done the same thing too if I was stuck in that terrible house or driving around in that van with nothing else to do or talk about for 6 weeks too.

If you read macs blogs and possibly the other fighters blogs, you'll understand why richie is such a total douche.

And serra needs to quit picking favorites and act professional about his coaching deal.

I think that Hughes was actually right when he said it was unprofessional of Serra not to do it. Professionals go out and do their job and dont let those kind of feelings get in the way of their jobs. Many of these guys are friends with the guys they have to fight, but they understand that they have to be pros and go out and do their job. Serra needs to realize that his job is to coach and corner these guys, so he needs to go out and do that even if he doesnt like some aspects of how the competition is set up. We would have a huge problem if some guy refused to do his job and fight somebody just because they were bunkmates in the house, so we should have a huge problem with Serra not coaching people and doing his job.

I think he was. The point is, there are no teams, and thats it! Get used to it! From watching past TUF's, Serra should have known this from the beggining! If your going to give-in to your emotion's, then you should not be a coach, point blank!

Eh. I see this as not being that big of an issue. It would probably have been more professional of Serra to corner his guy, but he didn't want to and that's that.

Bottom line if he wasnt going to corner either fighter he shouldnt have coached 1 fighter and not the other. To give mad tips to george and arroyo was very unprofesional if he wasnt "in either corner"

Yeah, well, that is the two-faced part of it. Saying I won't be in either corner but giving 2 guys tips is two-faced and lying..
