Various polls have reported vegans to be between 0.2%[4] and 1.3%[6] of the U.S. population, and between 0.25%[5] and 0.4%[7] of the UK population. The Times estimated in 2005 that there were 250,000 vegans in Great Britain.[7]

Vegans are therefore encouraged to plan their diet and take dietary supplements as appropriate. | from reading this it sounds like they dont drink any type of alcohol due to the fact that it raises blood pressure. that makes the most sense to me anyway.
well chronic drinkin does anyway. it definately explains the cholesterol and hear attack side tho.

Most vegans that do not drink are Straight Edge, both were a popular part of the Hardcore Punk movement. The lifestyle eventually caught on in Pop culture though.
I'm vegan and I drink recreationally, and I'm not aware of any animal products in beer.

A lot of people don't because they view it as unhealthy and if you're literally sacrificing and going out of your way to be so healthy, it would seem pointless to most.
And Im a afraid I must correct myself it seems that Guinness and other "Real Dark Lagers" have a collagen found in fish bladders used as fining. Milk and egg were used in old times but those gave way to other methods. Most other beers use algae now. Luckily I've always been more a fan of Pale Ales.
