I think this was an opportunity for Mac as much as for anybody else. He has every right to use it to further his career. There is no fair in America. I thought we liked one-sided staged events of combat i.e. Iraq. But I digress.

Yes he should have been on ... Stevenson was an ex KOTC Champ before he was on the show so I don't see why Danzig would be an exception.

Would you rather have a show full of cans like Bowman, Hightower, Miles, Weems, Etc....or would you rather have a show which consists of fighters with talent...
TUF 5 was full of good fighters...Maynard, Wiman ,Gamburian , J-LO, Diaz, Emerson...etc etc...
TUF 6 didnt have near the talent as TUF 5 imo but how the hell was Mac supposed to know...

I'm sure that the UFC offers quite a few under exposed fighters opportunities to be on the show, they just don't take them. Plus alot of these guys come by recommendation from their teams.
Ben Saunders was a champion in the league he fought in and an AKA team member.
Mike Whitehead was with MFS when he was on the show.
Ed Herman, Nate Quarry, Manny G., Nate Diaz and many others have been in that same position. It just so happens that Danzig actually had some rep coming into the show.
I'd like to see more Mac Danzigs on the show than Blake Bowmans. At least they can be put into good fights once the show is over. I personally think Mac comes into the LW division just outside the top 10.

I think the dynamic they have on show is typically really good. So yes I think Mac belonged on the show and here why.
Contestants have to fight 3 times in 6 weeks. So having cans on the show usually gives the top dogs an easy fight where they don't get injured and it also gives newcomers a chance to make a name for themselves. Because once someone who's green is on the show I guarantee they find fights easier with smaller organizations. So, having people like Danzig on the show allow the UFC to insure that they have some fighters coming off the show who can perform with at the least mid-carders and sell PPVs and get the ratings up for Fight Nights.
I agree that the talent pool was thin on this past season but you have a few guys that will see at least undercards in the future.

C'mon, most of the guys there had around 10 fights or less and they throw in one guy with 30?! I'm just saying they should all be fairly new or fairly seasoned. If you want to watch a bunch of vets beat the shit out of a bunch of rookies go watch boxing on Showtime!

he should have been on the show that serra won the comeback. It wouldn't have been a comeback but he would have won it regardless.

Melvin Guillard 24 | Edwin Dewees had something like 40, didn't he? I remember being amazed at how many fights he had while looking like someone barely old enough to be delivering newspapers.
