Prince Mclean a Cast Member on “The Ultimate Fighter 7″

Prince McleanPrince Mclean (4-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC), an Ohio-based middleweight who’s suffered his fair share of bad luck lately, has finally received some good fortune: he’s been chosen as a cast member for “The Ultimate Fighter 7.“

Sources close to the fighter recently told MMAjunkie.com (UFC News & Rumors - MMA News - UFC Fighters - UFC Event Recaps and Previews - MMAjunkie.com) about the selection.

“The Ultimate Fighter 7,” which debuts April 2 on Spike TV, features UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson and season-one winner Forrest Griffin as coaches. Sixteen middleweight fighters vie for a UFC contract in a tournament-style competition. The show began taping today in Las Vegas.

Mclean will surely be one of the most scrutinized selections for the show, thanks to his 4-5 career record. Things started off well enough as the fighter posted four consecutive knockout victories — three of them in less than two minutes each. However, Mclean’s since loss five straight, but two of those losses resulted from shoulder injuries — including a dislocated shoulder in his most recent fight — that rendered him unable to continue.

Although all his victories have come via knockout, Mclean is quite comfortable on the ground. In high school, he was a two-time state qualifier in wrestling. Additionally, he trains at Team Jorge Gurgel, one of the country’s top Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools. The Cincinnati-based team is home to Rich Franklin, Marcus Davis, Dustin Hazelett, Gurgel and other UFC fighters.

Mclean will join fellow Team Gurgel fighter Luke Zachrich (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) on the show. As MMAjunkie.com previously reported, Zachrdige was also chosen for the cast, as were former UFC fighter Steve Byrnes (6-1 MMA, 0-1

UFC) (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and C.B. Dollaway (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

Haven't ever heard of this guy Prince, but hopefully he's better than his record. Anyone know anything about him?

i agree. and what the hell's up with all the Team Gurgel fighters?...this dude makes like 4 already on the cast

I just hope they get some crazy fighters that are ready for the experience and to put it all on the line. Last years show had some real crappy fights due to the inexperience and undedication of some of the fighters. Not all of the fighters just some of them, which gave easy wins to some of the more rounded fighters. I wanna see a back and forth battle between the teams on this years TUF, with all the Serra wins it got boring to watch last year.

The only way to make this show better period is to have good fights, why is the UFC always picking guys with little or no experience to be on the show as for instance Cory Hill had no previous fight experience Baerra had like 2-3 fights oh yeah and the guy who blew his knee out had barley any fights either.
