Could very well be damage control, but we'll just have to let time determine if this response was legit.
Also depends on your perceptions of the guy. One the one end, it could be viewed as making excuses for a loss, but I think at the core of it, this is a guy who saw his dream go down the crapper and now has to deal with it. Along with the poetic justice of it all (the fact that he still somewhat refers to himself as the "favorite" going into the fight), there is the self recognition that CB knows his next fight is really going to make or break the way people look at him.
Personally, I thought the guy was full of himself... but I also have a hard time drawing a distinction between the confidence and cocky balance that is the UFC. Nonetheless, in his case, I thought he bought his own hype (and to some extent, still does). But maybe he'll mellow out and gain a better perspective.
Or maybe he'll just stay a dick.
