No Respect for Nog

I just watched episode 5 yesterday, and I couldn't believe the way the majority of the guys on the show just completely disrespected Nog when he came to the house to talk to them about the pranks. Shame on them, and Dana White---Dana could have at least come to the house with Nog to back him up so the guys would actually shut up and listen for a second. I'm all for having some innocent fun, but if Nog, who is a legend in the sport and literally paved the way for these guys, thinks something is hindering their training and should be changed, they should at least hear the guy out. Dana just let Nog take the matter into his own hands so they could build up the resulting exchange between him and Mir, when Mir pretty much just blew Nog off after he asked him to show some leadership and get his guys to back off the pranks.

Yea, I agree it pissed me off too. Here is a guy that if it wasn't for Fedor would probably be considered the best P4P figthter in the world and they completely just ignored him and blew him off. These guys should be greatful to even have Nog take his job so seriously. I mean how many coaches do we watch that just don't care and want to fight at the end, Shamrock, Hughes, Serra, and I am sure there are others I am forgetting about.

And Mir blowing him off is BS too. But hey I am sure Big Nog will be thinking about that when he was Mir mounted and is dropping bombs on his face.

I felt sorry for Nogs, and you could tell he was extremely uncomfortable & irritated.

Imagine trying to talk sense to a room full of stubborn fighters, while speaking your broken 2nd language and having a bunch of wannabes ignoring your presence. Maybe they should've taken a second to listen to what it takes to be one of the greats, and i'm extremely surprised Krysztof acted the way he did about the situation.

I know if I had a fight that week, and people are keeping me up at night with stupid ass pranks there'd be hell to pay.

Agreed, I was actually shocked to see how they treated him. If I had an opportunity like that I would soak in everything that a champion like Nog would have to offer. The disrespectfulness is attributed to the type of people that are on the show. You don't get on TUF by being smart, just look at Junie.

and you know, the more I think about it, the more I get mad at Dana for what happened. like you guys said, they're not necessarily looking for the next Rich Franklin (math teacher turned fighter, for those that didn't know) when they go recruiting for TUF, so I guess you can't really ask for much from those guys, but Dana....? come on, now. he exploited the shit out of Nog just to try and start a rift between him and Mir. at the beginning of the season, when all 32 contestants were fighting to make it into the house, one guy stomped on another guy's foot while they were fighting, and Nog and Mir looked at each other, said they both hate foot stomps, and agreed to not use them during their fight at the end of the season, so you know it's not like Mir has no respect at all for Nog. I think Nog probably approached Dana about the situation, and seeing the opportunity at-hand, Dana told him to take it up with Mir, who seemed like he was suddenly looking for any excuse to piss Nog off. I dunno, maybe I'm reading too much into things, but I already hate that "fuck the world, I'm a fighter" mentality some of these guys have, and no matter how you look at MMA, you have to respect the first and second generation of fighters that layed the foundation for all these guys who can now make a living off the sport.

I was shocked how team Mir AND Frank Mir blew off Nog like that. I like Mir and thought he would have agreed so I kind of lost respect for Mir a little bit. I personally hate the pranks on the show.

But you got to realize, I'm certain the editors made it look like they didn't give a shit about Nog. To make it like Team Mir are the bad guys and Team Nog is are the good guys.

I would have taken Silva to the house with me and double dared someone to not listen. Respect is a must and if you are stupid and don't have any then stay out of the way rather than resort to dis-respect.

Honestly, I don't see anyone in this house even making the cut to the UFC for more than a fight or two, so their opinions don't mean shit to me. As for Mir, I've never expected much from him, so this wasn't a surprise.

This is their little day in the sun, 15 minutes of fame, call it what you will: a bit part on a junk reality show where they are shown to be both mediocre as fighters and less than mediocre as human beings. They'll fade into justified obscurity and Nog is an MMA Hall of Fame fighter.

You guys have pretty much said it all, I'll add that in my opinion Nog deserves a hell of a lot of respect, and the fact Mir & Co didn't pay him that respect pissed me off to no end. I was actually starting to warm up to Mir during this season, despite never being a fan in the past, and that one incident put the kibosh on that shit.

I really hope his team gets taken out before the finale and it's two of team Nog in contention for the prize. So fuck Team Mir, and I hope Nog rips one of Mir's limbs off. =)

It was utter crap. So far it's looking like Nog has been the best coach on the show hitherto.

ps, I think Mir is a porn star.
