Right now they're trying to rebrand for a younger demo right now and get back to that Hogan era style where it's all about good guys and bad guys and more kid friendly. WWE are really reaching because of the loss of main eventers and the lack of new star development. Everybody behind the scenes today is either a McMahon or a former TV writer, not from the wrestling business and the product is sincerely suffering. They've gotten terribly gimmicky even for them, with all cage match PPVs and "guest celebrity hosts" on RAW and it's just killed the wrestling product.
McMahon FREAKS over these types of MMA ratings and sees this as a real kick in the teeth. He will flip out and I get a kick outta it, because true old school wrestling fans have abandoned him for more legit forms of athleticism and drama, like MMA. | The problem with the actual policy of WWE is that they are doing all the possible to do the show the less violent possible, I mean, there are 20 minutes of talk and then just 5 minutes of some pathetic match.
Years ago it was entertaining, the storylines were cool, and the matches were interesting to see (even if you knew that all they were doing was planned), now its lame, its always the same thing, just 4 people are involved in some championship storyline (Cena, HHH, Batista and Orton), and its always the same things, the same movements, its fucking boring.
The only pro wrestler I like very much its The Undertaker, he still does awesome entrances and is good with his "mind games", actually he is the only reason I still watch sometimes Smackdown, other than that, WWE sucks IMO. |
