More On The Insane UFC Rating, Dennis Miller-RAW Update
By Ryan Clark | October 01, 2009

Last night's Ultimate Fighter 10 reality show did a 3.7 rating and 5.3 million viewers. That's freakin' INSANE. The Kimbo-Nelson fight itself drew 6.1 million viewers. It was the highest rated MMA television show in U.S. history. The show did a 6.9 rating in Males 18-34, highest in the history of the station, beating the Ortiz-Shamrock fight in 2006. Kimbo vs. Roy Nelson did a 7.86 rating in the Male 18-34 demo. In Males 18-34, nothing on television this week except Monday Night Football, even first-run network series, beat it. Only seven network shows during this fall season had as many Male 18-34 viewers. Between the live show and immediate repeat, there were 6.8 million viewers. Keep in mind this total doesn't include DVR viewership, which last season for the series on average increased viewership 39%. Vince McMahon and company are not going to be happy with that.

Again, I've posted from my pro wrestling site, but again, these guys are really hardcore when it comes to ratings like RAW and IMPACT, so they're pretty damn reliable.

This number is sick.

Wow, just freakin wow. Just shows the drawing power of Kimbo. Like him or hate him, dude puts eye balls on him and asses in the seats.

I am glad that WWE got owned, probably now they will do something to improve a little bit their shows because some years ago they were cool to watch, but now they are boring.

WWE is tanking bad lately right now and it looks really good on them.

Right now they're trying to rebrand for a younger demo right now and get back to that Hogan era style where it's all about good guys and bad guys and more kid friendly. WWE are really reaching because of the loss of main eventers and the lack of new star development. Everybody behind the scenes today is either a McMahon or a former TV writer, not from the wrestling business and the product is sincerely suffering. They've gotten terribly gimmicky even for them, with all cage match PPVs and "guest celebrity hosts" on RAW and it's just killed the wrestling product.

McMahon FREAKS over these types of MMA ratings and sees this as a real kick in the teeth. He will flip out and I get a kick outta it, because true old school wrestling fans have abandoned him for more legit forms of athleticism and drama, like MMA.

That's pretty crazy alright, thought it would do okay but not that good.

I tuned into RAW for the first time in ages recently and saw the worlds lamest dialogue guest starring Al Sharpton :speechless1: not my cup of tea really.

The problem with the actual policy of WWE is that they are doing all the possible to do the show the less violent possible, I mean, there are 20 minutes of talk and then just 5 minutes of some pathetic match.

Years ago it was entertaining, the storylines were cool, and the matches were interesting to see (even if you knew that all they were doing was planned), now its lame, its always the same thing, just 4 people are involved in some championship storyline (Cena, HHH, Batista and Orton), and its always the same things, the same movements, its fucking boring.

The only pro wrestler I like very much its The Undertaker, he still does awesome entrances and is good with his "mind games", actually he is the only reason I still watch sometimes Smackdown, other than that, WWE sucks IMO.

Fukkin SICK!!! I LOVE ME SOME KIMBO!!! :)

Dude needs ta drop down to LH though, he reminds me of the Houston Alexander of the HW division, SICK stand up gay ground game.

He did have the MOON on him though, what ta do when the MOON on ya?

When the WWE Attitude era died, so did the quality of their product it all happened soon after they bought out WCW. Once they had no competition the product slowly declined. Why do you think TNA is still around? They picked up where the WWE failed. The attitude era was the best.

Haha taker is the only reason I watch every now and then too.

Its good to see UFC drawing such good ratings. Its just more exciting then other sports. I mean, Im from Canada so hockey is pretty big, but watching a good fight, end in a sudden KO, where your just like...OMG...breatheless, Hockey, or WWE just do that. I only see UFC getting bigger as long as they stick to the game plan of good fights. Dana has reminded me of Vince lately with page saying he was told what to say and shit, I dont care if the fighters dont like each other, I still wanna watch them fight. its the sport I like

A 3.7 isn't that great...
