Default Nagging TUF question

from what i've always understood, in regards to the fights that take place in the house on tuf, only the semi finals go on a fighter's record, right?

cb entered tuf 7 undefeated, but of course lost to amir in the semi finals (and later the finals). going in to the finals, his record included one loss (in compliance to the semi final bouts being considered professional ones).

now, on tuf 5 (my favorite season), we all seen gray maynard tap out to nate diaz in the semi finals, yet to this day, maynard is considered undefeated. another name that comes to mind that seemed to slide under the radar is ben saunders. his recent fight w/ mike swick is considered to be his first loss, yet he too was defeated in the semi finals on tuf 6. junie browning on the other hand entered his season of tuf w/ zero losses, losing to efrain in the semi finals, apparently counting as a loss on his pro mma record.

with all that said, why do some fighters seem to get passes in regards to their semi final losses on tuf, while others are stuck w/ the blemish?

Two round fights do not count against your record. Once it is a schedueled 3 rounder then it counts

doesnt answer my question lol. cb and gray both got submitted in the second round of their semi final fights if im not mistaking, yet gray remains undfeated while cb apparently has TWO losses to amir (also including his finale loss). makes no since. its like they pick and choose which guys they want to keep undefeated.

i also notice matt serra's record is "roided up" so i dno if it's including tuf fights or grappling matches, etc. gotta be a reasonable explanation for all this.

I remember that Rashad was 13-0 or something like that, and when the fight with Machida was announced, he suddenly became 17-0

At smaller venues, fighters records are whatever they say.

CB is 9 and 2 according to wikipedia and Sherdog.

Gray Maynard is undefeated because his fight with Emerson in the TUF finale was a No Contest. He slammed Emerson and the ref stopped the fight. From WIkipedia:

"At the The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale, Maynard fought Rob Emerson in a controversial fight. Maynard seemed to be in control of the fight in round one. During the second round he picked up Emerson and slammed him to the mat. Emerson immediately tapped out because of an injury to his ribs. The referee claimed that Maynard also could not continue because he seemed to have hit his head on the mat and knocked himself out due to the force of his own slam, thus because both fighters could not continue he ruled it a "No Contest". UFC President Dana White commented, "I know one thing, that Maynard was out cold". Maynard did not agree claiming that, because the ring-side doctors found he suffered no concussion during the bout, he had never lost consciousness in the fight."

Matt Serra on Wikipedia is 15 and 6 and on Sherdog he is 9 and 6...but below his list of fights on Wikipedia it states - Note: His record does not include his two wins while on the Ultimate Fighter as they are classified as exhibition bouts.....it only shows the 9 fights.

that doesnt answer the question still lol. BOTH cb and gray lost in the semi finals of their respective tuf seasons, yet going into the finale, cb had a loss and gray was undefeated...makes no since.

i think at that stage the TUF semis were scheduled for 2 rounds though so are exhibition matches, as the seasons went on they began to make the semis into 3 rounds which are recorded on your record

i think anyway
