Get in the house another way So, we all know that, at the beginning of the Ultimate Fighter, you have to win a fight in order to get in the house. Would you all be in favour of a performance-based entry instead of a win-based entry? The reason I bring this up is in the case where it seems fighter 1 beats fighter 2, and fighter 3 beats fighter 4, but both fighters 3 and 4 put on a better performance than fighter 1. If entry into the house was performance-based, fighters 3 and 4 would get in before fighter 1. Sorry if this idea has been posted before. |
You are talking about the tryouts? Because if yes, I remember seeing a video when Dana said that not because a fighter lost means that he is eliminated, the the performance is what counts. |
I think it's better that they are made to fight to get into the house. Not only does it make a great episode with all those qualification matches, but it also let's the coaches&Dana see if there's someone who just don't have the fighting spirit to make it (for example the french guy). Nothing worse than having a guy in the house that pretty much quits for nothing. However, the idea of so called wild cards based on performance in the qualification matches is a solid one. |
I think the wildcard thing they introduced could address the fact that fighter 'x' put on a good show in losing against fighter 'y', while fighter 'a' gets in after fighting guy 'b' who sucked balls big time. |
I picked other and like the wild card thing. I don't like just one way for reasons already stated. The only thing I fear out that is the producers picking someone just to exploite on TV not because their a good fighter and got beat |
