Default What would happen if a contestant doesn't make weight
So they keep talking about Gabe being 20lbs overweight. What are the TUF rules about making weight? I know what would happen in a regular fight, but since this is tournament style, what would happen?

Also I am wondering what is stopping them from picking him, especially since it is likely that he will not make weight for the fight.

I imagine if he cant make weight the fighter that picks him, the fighter would get a buy. and he would go home

That is what I was thinking, but then wouldn't that make him an easy target?

Pick him early, so he doesn't have the time to drop the weight, get the bye, and get into the second round.

thats what i was wondering, maybe they were actually told not to pick him for that reason, so everything evens out.

Its happened before on TUF. Episode 1 of season 2 had a fighter forfeit due to missing weight. No reason why the same thing wouldnt happen here.

Yeah the first guy that was to ever fight on TUF 1 was 20lbs over and got down to within like 5 lbs and gave up trying,but if i remember right he was fighting another guy for the last slot left to make the show.He was sent packing and never has been heard from since.
