Former Strikeforce Women's Champion Gina Carano is being targeted for a return to the Strikeforce cage in December according to a recent report.

The former Champ hasn't fought since taking a beating at the hands of Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos in August of 2009. She had won her seven previous bouts and had been thrust into the limelight by EliteXC promoter Gary Shaw as the face of women's MMA.

Since the bout Carano has spent time in Hollywood filming movies and she was also featured in the remake of the popular 90's TV game show American Gladiators.

The December Strikeforce is also expected to feature a lightweight title fight between current champ Gilbert Melendez and challenger, Jorge Masvidal.
