Apple Valley, CA — Gladiator Challenge (GC), one of the top MMA promotions in California , has made the decision to strip two-time heavyweight champion Dave Huckaba of the title for his failure to honor his contract agreement. Huckaba was scheduled to defend his belt against Dan Severn at “Nemesis” on Saturday, August 22nd, but failed to do so.
Gladiator Challenge Owner/Promoter Tedd Williams stated, “In order to be fair to both the fans and the other GC heavyweight contenders, we have made the difficult decision to once again take the title away from Mr. Huckaba. We are sad to see it come to this, but we feel that our hand has been forced. We hope that, in time, this situation will be resolved in a more favorable manner.”
Williams added, “We wish Mr. Huckaba well in his future endeavors.”
