Earlier this month, UFC President Dana White announced that the company has signed undefeated women’s MMA prospect and former three-division champion boxer Holly Holm to a 5-fight deal. There are a lot of people optimistic that Holm will be groomed to be a potential opponent for Ronda Rousey, but “The Preacher’s Daughter” says she wants to get a few UFC fights under her belt before going up against the champion. In an interview with MMA Junkie, she said:
“I know I have a lot to learn, so I do want to have a couple fights before fighting Ronda.”
That said, she’d accept a fight against the champ if it was presented. But she’s realistic about her current skill level and what it’s going to take before she’s a serious threat to MMA’s most dominant female fighter.
“If you told me that’s what I had to do right now, I’d say fine, let’s grind it out and get to work,” Holm explained.
“I just feel like there are some more things I want to learn first.”
