INDIANAPOLIS – Jason Barclay, an attorney in the Indianapolis, Ind. office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, has been appointed as chairman of the Indiana State Athletic Commission by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. Barclay’s appointment is effective July 1. He will serve a three-year term to end July 1, 2012.
As a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, Barclay represents clients in complex white collar criminal investigations, civil enforcement actions and administrative proceedings before state and federal regulatory bodies.
The State Athletic Commission was created by Senate Enrolled Act 160, which was signed by the Governor into law on May 13, 2009. The State Athletic Commission regulates boxing, mixed martial arts, and unarmed combat matches and exhibitions in the State of Indiana.
