Joe Lauzon Likely For UFC 78 Fight Card In November

The following is an excerpt from an exclusive scoop on the UFCMania.com website:

Joe Lauzon — lightweight fighter and former contestant on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 — is tentatively scheduled to fight at UFC 78 on November 17 from the Prudential Arena in Newark, New Jersey, UFCmania.com learned earlier this morning.

No opponent has been named at this time. However, 155-pound fighters Kenny Florian and Frank Edgar are possibilities, considering both are also expected to appear that evening and have not been matched up with opponents, either.

According to our source, Lauzon underwent knee surgery this week to repair a tendon tear that had been bothering him before TUF 5 even began. He will head out to Hawaii to train with TUF 5 coach BJ Penn in September and expects to make a full recovery in time for the November event.
