Jon Jones Says Gustafsson Fight Lit Fire Under Him

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones will step back into action when he defends his title against Glover Teixeira this Saturday (April 26th) at UFC 172 but spoke for a moment about his last title defense against Alexander Gustafsson with MMAJunkie.com this past week.

Jones, who took a unanimous decision victory over the Swede in September 2013, explained how the closely fought bout changed things for him:

“That fight, it lit the fire under me that I really needed. I don’t like to make excuses, but I definitely think I’ve been more committed to other performances in the past. I could have been more committed to that fight, and I learned from that. I learned not to look past anybody.”
