As noted, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones was arrested for a probation violation on Tuesday in New Mexico.
Soon after the news became public, Jones’ team issued the following statement to MMAFighting.com:
“Jon and his team are taking this very seriously, and we will let the legal process play out.
“We are confident he will be released once he has an opportunity to explain to the judge the facts in this case.”
According to those close to the situation, Jones’ team is confident that they will resolve this latest issue in a way that will not affect Jones’ upcoming rematch against Daniel Cormier for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 197 on April 23rd.
