Jones Vs. Gustafsson 2 May Not Happen At UFC 177

Despite early plans that would see UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones face Alexander Gustafsson in a long awaited rematch at UFC 177 later this summer, things may have changed.

Speaking to reporters following UFC 173, UFC President Dana White went on record to say that while the plan is to have the fight on August 30 in Las Vegas, there could be a holdup on making the fight happen then because the UFC is still negotiating a new deal with Jones. White stated on Jones, “We’re doing a new deal with him.”

The UFC and Jones need to finalize a new deal before the fight can be signed. White also didn’t rule out the fight potentially happening at a stadium in Sweden, saying, “Anything’s still possible. We don’t have a deal done yet, so we’ll see what happens.”
