Just 24 hours after Conor McGregor knocked out Chad Mendes to become the interim UFC Featherweight Champion, the real UFC 145-pound champion, Jose Aldo, spoke out about his intentions to smash “The Notorious” one.
Aldo spoke with radio show Rock Bola following a soccer game in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil about his upcoming title unification bout with the Irish superstar.
“We will run through him no matter when the fight happens, but his time will come,” Aldo said. “When it does, you can be sure we will smash him.”
Aldo also spoke about the rib injury that prevented him from fighting McGregor at UFC 189 as scheduled..
“I’m still recovering, should be back to training in two weeks,” he said. “I’ll do more exams. As soon as the doctor clears me, I’ll be back to training.”
