A a recent edition of ESPN's MMA Live, co host Kenny Florian had this to say when a viewer email asked Florian a question about whether or now he would like a rematch with Diego Sanchez:
“I don’t want to fight Diego Sanchez to get revenge,” Florian said while responding to an e-mail question from a viewer. “I want to fight him because he’s a great fighter coming down to 155. I try to forget about my wins (and) forget about my losses and just move forward. Diego Sanchez being the great fighter that he is coming down to 155 — it’s exciting to me. I get a chance to fight a great fighters and that’s why I’d like the fight.”
Florian and Sanchez met in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter season 1 with Sanchez winning and earning the right to be called the first Ultimate Fighter. Since then, Florian has gone on to be one of the best lightweights in the UFC's division while Sanchez, after a stint in the welterweight class that was going no where fast, has decided to make the drop to lightweight.
