In addition to Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes, both of whom offered to step up to fight Conor McGregor if Jose Aldo pulls out of their scheduled UFC 189 title fight, a third well-known UFC veteran has stepped up to offer his services, in a way that only a Stockton boy can.
Longtime UFC contender Nate Diaz took to social media on Tuesday evening and wrote, “I’m fighting Conor McGregor [as his] UFC 189 replacement.”
Diaz continued, “Everybody else was broken or on steroids.”
The always-classy Diaz closed with some colorful hash-tags that read, “#MadeFromGlass” (Made From Glass) and “#UAintPunkingMeIrishMotherF*cker” (You Ain’t Punking Me Irish Mother F*cker).
For what it’s worth, Diaz would go on to delete the aforementioned tweet, however you can check out a screen shot of the tweet prior to it being deleted below.
As of right now, no official decision has been made regarding the status of the UFC 189 main event, which at this point, is still scheduled to feature UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo defend his title against “The Notorious” Conor McGregor at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, July 11, 2015.
