Anderson would get destroyed by shogun. Anderson never fought anyone with a good standup game. Shogun has pretty much fought the whos who of the mma world and has fought much better strikers than anderson. He would WRECK him. lol its funny because Anderson said he would go for the belt if lyoto didnt have it because everyone thought he would have it forever and now that shogun has it all the sudden Anderson doesn't want it because him and shogun are like "brothers" hahaha.

C'mon guys. Shogun is the real deal. Anderson Silva is beatable. The UFC has put a bunch of bums in front of him. The only real contender was Dan Henderson and look what happened there.

I like the canadian too, but really? His tools are clearly learned where as Anderson Silva's tools are not only learned, their embedded. Noone can move in the ring like him, including the great Fedor.

Yup!!, I like shogun but he doesn't have the tools he needs to defeat Anderson Silva. For one, he needs another guy in the ring to give him a chance other than the ref.Two, I know he's established in Pride, but Silva's established world wide.

I think shogun vs. silva would be fight of the year. shogun can do damage but I think silva will win that fight 9 out of every 10 times.

you must of never seen RUA in PRIDE for 1 he is 1 of 2 people to hurt rampage rashad couldent do that and it was a matter of time before someone nailed machida how can you say he got lucky when rua didnt give machida a chance to run(in part2) like him and silva do all the time.

thats why silva and machida dont want to fight each other cuz they would just run in circels around the cage

i say give rua rashad he'll kill him KO or it will be another boring rashad fight then give Rua forrest to avenge his loss and then fight silva after silva cleans out the middle weght div and put rampage ( back in shape and ready) and machida in there some were and thats some awsome PPVS

So Shogun, who was the top 205lb from 2005 to 2007 and once again now, got lucky with a completely brutal knockout over the previously thought unbeatable Machida? Shogun is just the type of fighter to take it to Silva. He's not afraid to strike, and against a tough 205lber I don't think Anderson could hold his own.

He's unstoppable as a middleweight, he defeated an average light heavyweight in James Irvin and a former champion but still relatively average fighter in Forrest Griffin (one who went in with the mindset that he, who had never knocked anyone out on the feet, could stand toe-to-toe with Silva). The Spider is great at middleweight, probably the 2nd P4P fighter in the world behind GSP or Fedor (depending on your opinion). But Shogun is an excellent striker, is better on the ground, and has shown that he isn't somebody who can get baited into the opponent's game plan, which is what everyone seems to do against Anderson.
