According to Nogueira’s boxing coach Luis Carlos Dórea, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will look to make his return to the octagon September. Even more intriguing is Nogueira’s rumored opponent, former UFC light heavyweight champion turned Hollywood Honeymooner Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

“It’s set that he’ll be back in September, and rumors point that his opponent might be Quinton Jackson. It’d be a great fight for Rogério, he’s a former UFC champion and a victory over him will move us pretty close to the title. The UFC only has top athletes and Quinton Jackson is really dangerous. It’d be a great fight, but the UFC didn’t confirmed anything yet.” Dórea told Tatame.com in an exclusive interview.

Nogueira last saw action at UFC 114 where he earned a controversial split decision over Jason Brilz. The Brazilian has put together two back-to-back wins under the UFC banner, and looks to be making a run for the title.

Rampage on the other hand will try to rebound from his one-sided unanimous decision defeat to rival Rashad Evans, which also took place at UFC 114.
