"Batman" had surgery last week as UFC veteran Kurt Pellegrino underwent an operation to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. Unfortunately for Pellegrino, the results weren't very positive.
According to a report at MMAJunkie.com
, during the surgery it was discovered that Pellegrino also had a torn ACL. Since Pellegrino only signed to authorize a repair of his meniscus, it was not operated on in any fashion.
The UFC lightweight contender must now schedule another date, as he needs to undergo a second surgery to fix the bum ACL. Attatched to an ACL repair is generally a lengthy rehab process. Pellegrino insists he won't be out past March of 2011. "You hear all these athletes are out for a year. I won't be out for a year. There's just no way," Pellegrino said to the MMAJunkie website.
"Batman" also spoke on how he suffered the injury.
