PWP War On The Mainland PPV Results: Sylvia vs. Buentello

King Of The Cage (KOTC) veteran Tony Lopez (19-4) surprised many on Saturday night, picking up a big victory by knockout over UFC veteran Jason Lambert (25-12). Lopez caught Lambert with a vicious knee, ending the night for "The Punisher" at 1:49 of the second frame. With the win, Lopez becomes the PWP light heavyweight (205-pound) champion.

UFC veteran Terry Martin (20-8) picked up his second consecutive victory following a three-fight losing streak that went from late-2008 through all of 2009. Martin earned a split decision victory over Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Jorge Ortiz (16-7-1) in the semi-main event of the evening.

In the main event of the evening, former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (27-6) added the PWP heavyweight belt to his trophy shelf with a second round knockout of UFC and Strikeforce veteran Paul Buentello (28-13). The fight, which was a catch-weight bout at 275-pounds due to Sylvia failing to make the 265-pound heavyweight limit, turned out to be a complete slugfest, with both guys taking a great deal of punishment in the nine minutes, 57 seconds inside the cage. After enduring a ton of punishment, "The Headhunter" was finally stopped by a big uppercut from "The Main-iac." There was only three seconds left in the second round at the time of the stoppage.
