MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer UFC president Dana White confirmed the specifics of the welterweight title fight between coaches of the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter - Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck - in a recent MMAFighting.com article. The public awareness of their path to a rematch inside the octagon begins on September 15th on Spike TV, with the premiere episode of The Ultimate Fighter season 12, where they will first appear as rivals on television sets across the globe. The two will remain prominent in the television focus from that mid-September date until December 11th, where White confirmed the two will meet in their 170-pound championship fight in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Originally rumored for Las Vegas, among other destinations, the GSP-Koscheck II bout is now official for the Bell Centre in Montreal at the UFC 124 pay-per view event. The fight marks a rematch of their first meeting, which took place back in 2007 at UFC 74. GSP won the non-title fight that night, marking his first appearance back in the octagon following his shocking knockout loss to TUF winner Matt Serra at UFC 69, resulting in the loss of his welterweight title. The victory over Koscheck was followed up by the third and final fight of a legendary trilogy between St-Pierre and Matt Hughes. GSP won that UFC 79 bout, setting up a title rematch against Serra, who he would destroy in another GSP-hosted UFC show in the same Bell Centre that the hometown champion will compete in this December. Since the first Koscheck fight in 2007, GSP has gone undefeated with a perfect 6-0 record, five of which were championship fights. He comes into Montreal this December at the peak of his career, and at the peak of his popularity.
