The Ultimate Fighter Season 12, Episode 2 Report
Posted on Sep 23, 2010
Come time to pick the fight GSP selects Bruce LeRoy to face off with none other than Jeff Lentz. The exhibit differing personalities, though neither fighter seems ’completely there’, if you know what I mean. Every time Lentz is in frame he’s got a cigarette in his mouth, while Caceres strolls around in a traditional Chinese Gi ala his idol Bruce Lee.
Come fight time Caceres comes out smiling like usual, while Lentz looks the more intimidating man as he sprints for the cage. The first round starts and Caceres is all flashy kick, landing occasionally before Lentz forces the actiona against the cage, where it remains for the majority of the fight, with Lentz maintaining control. The round comes to a close with Lentz executing a beautiful Judo throw puts Caceres on his back. Between rounds Lentz confidently shouts to Caceres, “I got you buddy!” Round two begins and it looks to be a carbon copy of the previous round. Lentz does a good job of controlling where the action takes place and avoiding any serious damage. The fight hit’s the ground again with Lentz ending up in the top position. He’s a bit conservative with his ground and pound attack and Caceres notices it immediately, slipping on a well timed triangle choke. Lentz slams Bruce LeRoy in an attempt to escape, but finds himself trapped in the triangle even tighter. Caceres forces the tap, and celebrates with more goofy antics. Next weeks sneak peak reveals a guest visit from Mike Tyson. His capacity is of question, but GSP is seen on screen praising Tyson, calling him an idol.
