The Ultimate Fighter Season 12, Episode 3 Report
Posted on Sep 30, 2010
Johnson comes out first, looking a little awe-struck by Tyson’s presence. Wilkinson follows, looking calm and collected, “I’m fit, and I’m ready,” states the Brit who seems completely collected.

Round one begins and Johnson is finding his mark with crisp left hands and explosive takedowns, dictating the pace for the first few minutes before Wilkinson manages his own takedown with roughly 90 seconds left in the first round. Wilkinson unloads with big knees, and Johnson can’t seem to get back to his feet. The round ends with Wilkinson on top, stealing the round.

“He turned that around quick.” Tyson tells White as they watch from cageside.

Round two looks like it may be more of the same as Wilkinson once again manages to put Johnson on his back, this time Michael is able to reverse positions and stand. Johnson is able to secure multiple takedowns, but doesn’t offer too much offense from the top position, though he is controlling where the fight takes place. The round ends and Johnson looks to have edged out the round on control.

A third round is announced, and both men look completely gassed. Johnson however surprises, coming out quick, firing bombs which put Wilkinson down. Johnson unleashes a barrage of punches from the top position and Wilkinson gives up his back. Johnson sinks the rear naked choke and coaxes a tap in the first minute of the final round.

Team GSP once again maintains control, and will choose next week’s bout.
