Five Foes For A Surging Carlos Condit

Carlos Condit has been riding the rollercoaster of success lately. Hell, he’s been on the ‘coaster for four and a half years. In that time he’s put together 11 victories against a lone defeat (at the hands of Martin Kampmann). And I’d be willing to bet a god 80% of people who watched that Kampmann fight scored it for Condit, I know I did.

Regardless, the man’s proven his worth for just about every major promotion in existence. He’s enjoyed great success in Pancrase, tore a hole through the Rumble On The Rock promotion (prior to meeting Jake Shields), won and defended the WEC welterweight title, and now he’s put together three back-to-back wins inside the UFC’s octagon.

If that’s not putting in work, I don’t know what is.

So, now that Condit has blown through another highly regarded opponent, who should be chosen to challenge the New Mexico native? I’ve got a handful of ideas…

Well
It's definitely not pointless (and check the reader numbers for a good example of why I write lists of this nature). If you've got promising talent fighting for a smaller organization, why is it outlandish to believe they could soon find themselves in the UFC? Especially if certain fighters fight on a fight-to-fight basis, and not under promotional contract (or have small contracts for that matter). So, Why suggest it you ask? Because it IS possible. Because a fighter fights for Bellator right now, doesn't mean he will be in 6 months. As for listing other guys in the UFC, sure I could, but I'm listing guys I feel match up with Condit very WELL. Jon Fitch? No, I don't think so - GSP beats Fitch, and that's about it. His skill set makes for a horrible clash with Condit, as it does for just about every man he fights.

And let's not pretend Hardy was the legit #1 guy to GSP's title when they fought.

Condits Top 5 Opponents
I hate when ppl create these kind of lists. I get what your trying to say but its pointless. Naming anyone outside of the UFC organization at this point for his next opponent is just a waist of time. Its not going to happen so why even suggest it? And its not like you couldn't name a cpl more guys from the UFC, I believe Jon Fitch is a prime example. Condit's next opponent probably comes from 1 of 3 guys: Shield, Kampmann, or Fitch. Anyone else I would consider a step down after he just got done KOing Hardy, the previous #1 Contender for GSP's title.
