A brief but interesting press release found its way into my email last night, and given the news revealed, it’s only appropriate I share this bit of information with you.

It looks as though K-1’s year end ‘Dynamite’ event will host a clash between longtime Japanese legend (and hero to many) Kazushi Sakuraba (26-14-1-2) and the dangerous Dream 2009 welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis (13-5-0-1). The two will meet in a featured main card bout; possibly the events headliner, though that remains unverified.

As for why the fading Sakuraba is competing with the young, dangerous Lithuanian striker is beyond me. Sakuraba should be gifted winnable fights at this point in his career. 14 years of combat sports take a serious toll on a man, and to sacrifice him to a prime striker is borderline insane, not to mention extremely dangerous. Let the man exit the sport on a nice tear, not torn to shreds.

We’ll keep you up to date as more K-1 Dynamite news rolls in!
