Kenny Florian already has his next assignment: a trip to 145 pounds where he’ll engage in a duel with surging Diego Nunes at UFC 131. However, should he topple Nunes in his featherweight debut, there’s another man who seems to want a piece of the former lightweight title challenger.

Speaking with Fiveknuckles.com, Team Alpha Male standout Chad Mendes had some interesting things to say about Florian.

"I think I would kill Kenny Florian," stated a confident Mendes. "Honestly, I think I am too strong, my wrestling is too good and my stand-up is improving. I'm too quick for him and I think I'm overall too athletic for him to handle. I honestly don't think he's going to make it past Nunes."

Those are pretty harsh words for a fighter as green as Mendes. With a professional record of 10-0, Mendes has yet to defeat the level of opposition that Kenflo has, but should Florian dismantle Nunes in his featherweight debut - as many insiders are predicting - we could well see Mendes forced to back his words up inside the cage.
